Meet Beppe of New York City |
|
|
New York City (in New York State) has so many great restaurants that offer
a diverse array of cuisines that you can choose from. One of these great
restaurants is Beppe, which can be found just steps away from Union
Square's green market amidst a well-known restaurant neighborhood. The
building of Beppe was fashioned after the Tuscan farmhouse style - complete
with a real fireplace, wood flooring sourced from antique barn wood, and a
roof tiled with terracotta. The restaurant serves lunch and dinner from
Monday to Friday, while only dinner is served on Saturdays.
The food which is prepared for you in Beppe is crafted in the Tuscan
country kitchen tradition (which the Beppe kitchen staff follow) while
master chef Marc Taxiera oversees the food preparation process. Chef Marc
is known for exploring the nooks and crannies of the Tuscan countryside
villages so that he can sample food specialties of the region then render
his own versions in the Beppe kitchen - for the dining pleasure of
customers like you. Marc Taxiera got extensive preparation for his current
position as executive chef of Beppe from his youth growing up in an Italian
family, and working as staff of bagel stores and delicatessens while
studying in high school. Marc studied formally at the Institute of Culinary
Education, and earned his internship in the kitchens of popular restaurant
Felidia (also in New York.) He also worked as Sous Chef of the Baldoria
restaurant. All these years of exposure to great cooks who truly care about
the food and what a satisfactory dining experience entails helped hone chef
Marc's cooking senses and skills.
If you examine the menu, you may find it to be puzzling at the start since
the dishes are named in Italian but you can always ask help from the
servers to find out what ingredients each dish contains. The nice thing
about Beppe is that chef Marc insists on using authentic ingredients so
that his dishes taste like the original Tuscan dishes they were modeled
after. Some ingredients that are used are sea salt sourced directly from
the Mediterranean and real Tuscan extra virgin olive oil. The fact that the
green market is quite near Beppe makes it very convenient to order and
purchase the best and freshest ingredients that Beppe can get. The Beppe
kitchen staff have been well-trained in all steps in food preparation by
chef Marc himself so that all the dishes come out just as well as if chef
Marc had prepared each one himself. Beppe also has a pretty extensive wine
list, so you need not worry that your Tuscan meal will be lacking in that
respect.
If you want to reserve the private dining room, there need to be at least
15 people in your party - though the room can hold up to 30 diners at a
time. You may use the restaurant menu to plan the food for your special
event hosted at Beppe. You are required to pay a deposit so that the dining
room can be reserved for your special event.
